Free audio editing software

You'll need to capture and edit audio for your projects in this class. We have Adobe Audition in the labs, and it's a great program. If you're looking for a good free program to use at home, my pick is Audacity. It downloads and installs quickly and offers far more functionality than you'll ever need.

There is only one quirk with using Audacity: You save your files in its proprietary format, then export them to .wav or .mp3 formats. Nothing difficult -- just an extra step.
